Yesterday, I attended my grad ceremony. A couple of days prior, a part of me thought why bother? It's been 2 years since I graduated. I wondered, who will be there from my classes? I went through grad school with some very thoughtful, wise, rocking folks. I learned so much and had engaging conversations about leadership and education, and what matters in the process of facilitating learning.
I'm so glad I went to the convocation yesterday as I got to see my favourite prof, chat with an uber lovely and wise classmate, and get cheered on by some kids and Uvic staff as we made our way to the auditorium. It reminded me of doing the Vancouver marathon in '96 and being cheered on by strangers. Both times, I was struck by how wondrous these small and unexpected moments can be.
