Lately, when I've been doing my walk-runs on the trail by my house, I've been adding some dance moves. A little skipping, hopping, running woman on the spot. It feels so good to move and dance. It always has, I'm just beginning to integrate more of it in all aspects of my life.
Back in May, I was listening to an Ezra Klein podcast where he was speaking with Dr. Bessel van Der Kolk about trauma and how dance can support the healing process. It's a way of integrating aspects of ourselves that have been separate. For many years, I've experienced the awesome power of dancing, whether in my kitchen, at a Zumba class, through hosting a dance party with friends, and now on the trail.
Here's to the power of dance.
