What is REiL Learning?

A play on words for what is “real” – infusing imagination & creativity into the experience of learning. Think BIG picture. REiL Learning provides inspiration as we design learning opportunities - and it reminds us of what is important when we encounter challenges. Like all great models and frameworks, it is meant to guide practice.

REiL Learning is based on Katy's Master's research and her wealth of experience as an educator, social worker, and as an education consultant.

REiL Learning provides trauma-informed, creative learner engagement training and resources to school districts, schools, and community organizations.

At its core, REiL learning believes:

•Rapport is an ongoing practice of being interested and engaged

•Engagement exists on a spectrum

•Creativity is connected with problem solving

•Learner voice & agency matter
